To tackle this challenge, EpicSurf is collaborating with Aqua Creek to develop the first-of-its-kind lift mechanism customized for standing waves.
Aqua Creek is a company dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals of all abilities through affordable and accessible recreation and fitness equipment. EpicSurf and Aqua Creek are working to develop a specialized lift system to enable people with limited mobility to access the wave easily, comfortably, and safely. This system allows users to enter the wave in a secure, supported position, reducing the need to climb onto the wave or fall. Although EpicSurf offers a soft landing due to its true water depth, some patrons with mobility restrictions may still feel uncomfortable with experiencing a fall.
This lift will be customizable to meet the needs of individuals, allowing for a tailored experience that ensures both safety and enjoyment. The lift system will have the capability to gently lower the rider into the water and position them on the wave, allowing them to experience the thrill of surfing without difficulty of access that might otherwise be a barrier. After their ride, the lift can retrieve the rider from the water, ensuring a smooth exit from the wave. The lift system not only provides access but also allows surfers to experience the wave while securely attached to the sidewall, delivering the joy and therapeutic benefits of surfing on EpicSurf.
