As night falls, a time machine transporting the visitors back in 1864 experience some glitches. These glitches open time rifts affecting the village and transforming it, revealing hidden stories and places. An AI photobooth transforming the audience, embedded screens in the walls acting as animated photos.
Visitors receive a mysterious telephone call, as if summoned by an unknown force. As they settle into their seat, a hidden load cell triggers a sophisticated voice recognition through a phone call system , which answers the call, connecting them with a mystical fortune teller. The interaction unfolds as a unique, technology-driven experience, with a dynamic narrative branching into up to 80 possible combinations. The atmosphere is heightened by an immersive soundscape, mesmerizing music, and a dazzling display of light effects, courtesy of Astera wireless orbs, LEDs, and laser lights.
In the Clockmaker’s realm, an interactive installation designed with TouchDesign technology allows visitors to manipulate time and tempo. Four bidirectional handles invite exploration, where one direction unlocks the past, and the other, a parallel dimension. As the handles are turned, they intersect, triggering a mesmerizing fusion of video, music, and scenic lighting, creating unexpected and captivating effects.
This new attraction is a novel solution to the challenges museums and other sites face nowadays as they strive to revamp their tourism offer. In addition to the Village Québécois d’Antan’s daytime offer, this immersive night-time experience provides yet another reason for discovering or rediscovering this wonderful site. To create Village Parallèle, Moment Factory deployed its immersive technologies in accordance with the Village Québécois d’Antan’s mission and infrastructure, resulting in a one-of-a-kind, offbeat experience that dovetails perfectly with the site’s traditional offering.
