Based on the characters and settings from the classic 1953 film, the attraction is an immersive 3D experience that uses expressive motion-base vehicles to “float” on the water and “fly” in the sky, using an innovative combination of physical sets, props, and large-format media projections.
Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure is the first and currently only venue in the world using the highly innovative and patented Disney Laser Switch, invented and pioneered by Walt Disney Imagineering’s own Imaging and Effects Department, and productized into a mature commercial system by WDI R&D for use in Disney Parks worldwide.
Utilizing 6P 3D laser technology (similar to Dolby 3D), this revolutionary system simplifies and greatly reduces previous hardware system costs by allowing external 3D lasers to be shared across multiple projectors, and allowing the highest quality 3D presentations to be built with half of the traditional number of projectors.
This can eliminate costly alignment systems, and greatly reduce maintenance costs by allowing each single projector to display both the left eye and right eye images. Projectors efficiently share the light with another projector in a different scene simultaneously, all at frame rates up to and exceeding 120 frames per second, per eye.
By greatly reducing the cost of hardware needed and reducing the infrastructure costs and maintenance, significantly higher quality images can be delivered at a percentage of the cost of traditional systems.
It features one moving part, exceptional efficiency and performance, and a long and trouble free service life.
