Developed by Kiss the Frog, the Play Playground experience is powered by a suite of innovative software and backend systems that create an immersive and personalized environment for each visitor.
The entertaining games contain single-player and multiplayer games, where visitors actively move their bodies to earn points. For example, they guide a ring that can’t touch the rambling track on a rainbow road, form words in a cubicle, move across giant poker chips, guide a ball through a big maze, or high-five as many lights as possible.
At the heart of this innovation is the Connected Experience Platform that supports the twelve interactive attractions within the venue. The game controllers are connected to the Connected Experience Platform, designed to support gamification and handle the complex gameplay logic for each attraction, ensuring seamless interaction between players, and digital sensors. What sets this apart is the interaction, which adapts in real time to each player’s actions, creating a dynamic and engaging experience designed for social interaction.
The innovation extends beyond just gameplay. Each visitor’s journey starts at a dedicated login kiosk, where they sign in and receive their personal RFID card. This card not only serves as a gateway to the attractions but also integrates with the Connected Experience Platform after the visitor has been logged in. The Connected Experience Platform is the central hub for tracking and recording every player’s scores, managing leaderboard data, and integrating with Play Playground’s payment system. The system fully integrates with an external POS (point of sale) payment system, managing game credits on visitors’ RFID cards, and is designed with scalability in mind, capable of handling a large volume of visitors while ensuring a personalized experience for each one.
Every attraction starts at its login kiosk, where players use their personal RFID cards to sign in. Our Connected Experience Platform tracks and shares each player’s results, recording scores from every gaming session. For every player to see their personalized leaderboards they can sign in to one of the many digital player profile kiosks or check one of the leaderboards throughout the venue.
The real-time leaderboard displays, fueled by the Connected Experience Platform, are not just static lists but interactive elements that encourage friendly competition and social sharing. Visitors can see how they rank against others, motivating them to improve their scores. This social aspect is further amplified by the ease with which players can share their achievements on social media, turning every visit into a shareable experience that extends beyond the walls of Play Playground.
Moreover, Kiss the Frog has equipped the venue’s support staff with a web-based User Interface for managing visitor requests, editing screen texts and maintaining game configurations. This allows for quick adjustments and ensures that the visitor experience remains smooth and enjoyable, even during peak times. The integration of RFID technology, real-time data tracking, and social sharing capabilities sets a new standard in the entertainment industry, providing a template for the future of gamified experiences.
The Connected Experience Platform is installed on-site and in the cloud, allowing players to easily log in to their accounts at any Play Playground venue and track their scores across all attractions, regardless of location.
